In June 1933, in a modest Masonic Hall in Jeffersonville, Indiana, a young minister named William Branham experienced a series of supernatural revelations that would define the trajectory of his ministry. These “Seven Visions” are regarded by his followers as a divine roadmap of world events leading from the Great Depression to the final consummation of the age.
The Nature of the Prophetic Vision
According to the records of Branham’s ministry, a vision is not merely a dream. While a dream occurs during sleep within the subconscious, a vision is a “supernatural sense of sight” experienced while fully awake. Branham described this state as living in two worlds at once—the seen and the unseen—a state he compared to a “Virtual Reality” where he was physically immersed in the events unfolding before him.
The Seven Visions: A Chronology of the Modern Age

1. The Rise and Fall of Mussolini
   The first vision focused on Italy. Branham saw Benito Mussolini invading Ethiopia, stating that the nation would “fall at his steps.” However, the prophesy also foretold a gruesome end for the dictator, predicting that his own people would eventually turn on him and literally spit upon his corpse—an event that historically mirrored Mussolini’s execution and public display in 1945.
2. Hitler and the Siegfried Line
   The second vision turned toward Germany. It predicted that America would be drawn into a global conflict against Adolf Hitler. Specifically, Branham was shown the “Siegfried Line,” a massive defensive fortification where he saw a great toll of American lives being taken before Hitler reached a mysterious end.
3. The Three “Isms” and the Rise of Russia
   At a time when Fascism, Nazism, and Communism were the dominant political forces, the vision declared that Fascism and Nazism would be swallowed up by Communism. The “Voice” in the vision famously admonished Branham to “Keep your eyes on Russia,” identifying it as the primary power to watch regarding future world involvements.
4. Technological Advancement
   The fourth vision leaped into the realm of science and transport. Branham saw “egg-shaped cars” with plastic bubble roofs traveling down automated highways. Crucially, the cars had no steering wheels; the occupants were seen playing a game like checkers while the vehicle moved under remote control.
5. The Moral Decay of Womanhood
   The fifth vision was a social prophesy concerning the moral state of the world. Branham saw a rapid decline in traditional values, starting with women entering worldly affairs via the vote and ending with a total “decay of the flesh.” He described a progression of fashion that moved toward increasingly revealing clothing, symbolizing a loss of spiritual identity.
6. The Rise of the “Cruel Woman”
   The penultimate vision featured a woman of great beauty but extreme cruelty rising to power in the United States. Clothed in splendor, she held total authority over the people. Branham suggested this was a “type” or symbol, perhaps representing the rising power of the Roman Catholic Church as an organization.
7. The Final Ruin of America
   The series ended with a devastating explosion that ripped through America. In the vision, Branham observed a flaming, chaotic environment riddled with craters and smoking mounds of debris, without any human life.
